ACCREDITATION

GOAL
ARTHROS RheumConnect regional meetings will deliver timely and impactful content and provide access to leaders in rheumatology education and research to underserved areas of the country. The four RheumConnect regional meetings will provide quality education to physicians, APRNs, PAs and other health care professionals in regions both big and small and will dedicate resources and expertise into ensuring these programs are exceptional educational opportunities for rheumatologists in all communities. The focus will be new concepts regarding disease etiology, clinical presentation and phenotype and emerging therapies.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This initiative is designed for health care professionals who treat rheumatic disease and are interested in emerging data on rheumatology.

LEARNING OBJECTIONS
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review data on the prevalence of rheumatic diseases.

  • Describe the progressive nature and detrimental effects of untreated rheumatic diseases.

  • Discuss updates in diagnosis, classification and treatment guidelines and demonstrate strategies to incorporate these guidelines into practice.

  • Analyze recently approved and emerging treatment options, including a review of their safety and efficacy through analysis of how new agents are improving patient care.

  • Identify and analyze any “hot topics” in specific areas of rheumatic disease (such as the use of biosimilars, new treatments for psoriatic disease, vasculitis, gout, and drugs in development).

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the University of Cincinnati and Focus Medical Communications. The University of Cincinnati is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

DESIGNATION STATEMENT

The University of Cincinnati designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
